Before I hit you with all the Christmas stuff that may or might not happen in the next couple weeks, I wanted to introduce everyone (to the best of my abilities) to a Tumblr-based project that I’m a part of called LoZ Voices.
It lives at lozvoices.tumblr.com.
LoZ Voices is a fan project where a bunch of amateur voice actors from all over the English-speaking world have gotten together to put voices to Legend of Zelda characters as they appear in cut-scenes, manga, fan comics, and more. There will also be original content created by the groups’ artists and writers. The first projects and announcements are supposed to be going up this week (finger’s crossed, we’re still getting revved up, so there were technical difficulties), but there’s already some really cool stuff being produced by the actors on their role-playing/ask blogs.
If you’re not familiar with character ask blogs, they’re a style of blog on Tumblr where the blog runners encourage people to send in questions, and they’ll answer them in character. Luckily, you don’t have to have a Tumblr account or blog to participate. So head on over to one of the character ask blogs listed below to browse their answered questions and ask your own. Not everyone is quite set up yet.
Toon/Child Link (because we’re going to have two, but the other hasn’t set his blog up, yet.)
The Fairies (Navi, Tatl, Tael, Proxi, etc)
Then there’s an extra blog for all the other extra special, secondary Legend of Zelda characters that you know and love. Examples include (but aren’t limited to as the cast expands):
- Princess Hilda and Ravio
- Lana, Cia, and other Hyrule Warriors original characters
- Princess Ruto
- The Skull Kid
- King Daphnes/King of Red Lions
- The Happy Mask Salesman
For an example of some of the fun, check out this super sassy exchange between Cia and Ruto arguing over Link’s affection.
So drop on by, listen to the asks, ask your own and (if you’re on tumblr) follow the blogs for more cool content to come. I’ll even keep you updated here as more fun stuff comes to light!
